Success Story: Manufacturing Analytics and Reporting – S&B Textiles was facing the issue of accurate calculation of cost related Dyes and Chemicals consumed in dyeing process of fabric and inventory. Since Dyes and chemical cost is 40 % and they were in thousands of colors and types.
S&B Textile was using manual system consist on spreadsheets and paper documents which resulted in delayed information, time consuming in calculating accurate information for decision making. Dyes and Chemical A/C payables were increasing exponentially.
We thoroughly reviewed the situation, considered various software, custom solutions and business processes. We discovered that dyeing recipe is the key to control that issue, all material issues and cost calculations are extracted from this document and there was an immense need t automate recipie.
After carefully evaluating various options and in the light of cost-effectiveness we initiated we designed the perpetual in venture system, all the dyes and chemicals are issued through this system against the recipie_id key in MS Access Software. User friendly forms were created for data entry and report created against recipie_id wthi additional parameter like date customer, color and so on.
This software enabled organization to see individual recipie by various dimensions and and summaries. Once any dyes or chemical issued it automatically update the qty on hand and in the event purchase of dyes and chemicals there automatically update, and responsible personal can bring his laptop to the store and physically track balance of all dyes and chemicals on hand.
